Score 2/6

The big thing in 2005 is a violent sport which can have some pretty serious consequences… like dying.

For those of you out there who might not of realized it but this (was first released in 2002) and the 1975 original starring James Caan was adapted from a 1973 short story first published in Esquire titled Roller Ball Murder written by American author William Harrison. I suppose could be argued that this the second remake of Rollerball considering that a sports movie based on a seemingly similar sport called Futuresport was made only four in 1998 starring Dean Cain. One last piece of trivia Futuresport actually holds a better rating then this version of Rollerball.
Now this isn’t the best of movies, in fact the general consensus about this the 2002 version of Rollerball sucks. For most of the movie that might be true but I believe that this is not the kind of movie that forces you to re-evaluate the life choices that lead you up to watching this movie, in fact that it’s kind of watchable if only for the scenes involving Paul Heyman as the American commentator for Rollerball, the finale and a couple of blink and you’ll miss it appearance by Pink.
