After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness – conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.
Yes, I probably should have seen this more than a few months ago, but as I have already established there is some movies that a thirty-something shouldn’t see by themselves (if only to avoid the judgemental glances of parental figures), so I kind of had to wait for the DVD release.
I have to admit that the cynic in me has what could only be described as a ‘ho hum, not another one’ outlook to a lot of the Disney kids movies that I have watched for The Movie Boards. While watching this there was none of that cynicism that I described, in the pit of my stomach there was actually a small amount of glee.
Sure the story might be a tad simplistic but there was so much care, love and respect put into the production of the movie by the filmmakers and actors that you won’t have to plan some kind of vegetable related torture should you ever be forced to watched this by your son, daughter or young cousin.
