The Good Dog! International Film Festival Seeks Funding

The Good Dog! International Film Festival is seeking to raise $10,000 via crowd funding platform Pozible to finance event costs for the 2016 Sydney screenings of its finalist films.
Festival Director Anny Slater explained that the films are scheduled to screen on 18 & 19 March 2016 at Rozelle and Zetland outdoor venues. Entries to the fest were received from Australia, UK, USA, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Ireland and Estonia and each film includes a dog. The Australian festival, which has been in operation since 2012, is the biggest and longest running of its kind in the World. Past festivals have screened Oscar and BAFTA winning films and profits donated to local dog charities.
“We’ve got some great films this year. Dogs play such an important role in society and we are always thrilled to provide a platform to celebrate them on film and in writing. This is the first time we’ve launched a crowd sourcing campaign as a source of funding and we are hoping like-minded people and companies will help us with the event. The investment ranges from $25 through to $1000 to facilitate individual and corporate donors and the initiative seeks to fund basic event staples like large blow up screens, lights, PA, barricades, security, publicity, graphics, audio visual, compositing, insurance and park hire. I hope we can find some angels to help us.” Ms Slater commented.
