Nightrider Bus Service Survey

Minister for Transport and Municipal Services Meghan Fitzharris explained that the community is invited to provide feedback on ACTION’s Nightrider bus service, which most recently offered a safe, reliable and low cost means to get home after the National Multicultural Festival. It also ran for six nights in December, including New Year’s Eve.
“The Nightrider provided regular transport from the City to the bus stop closest to passenger’s homes, whether they lived in Gungahlin, Belconnen, central Canberra, Woden, Weston Creek or Tuggeranong after celebrations in the city.” Minister Fitzharris commented “During the 2016 National Multicultural Festival, 422 passengers caught the Nightrider bus service on Friday and Saturday night. While in December 2015, the Nightrider carried 2,309 passengers home from festive season celebrations in the city.”
Minister Fitzharris said the ACT Government is committed to engaging with the community on how to improve Canberra’s transport network ahead of the introduction of Transport Canberra on 1 July. “We are working to continually improve our public transport system so it becomes more convenient, efficient, affordable and reliable. Community feedback on Nightrider is essential to the evaluation of the service and to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our customers.”
Minister Fitzharris explained that a more extensive survey will take place in April 2016 to seek feedback from current public transport users and non-users about how to best improve Canberra’s transport system.

The consultation closes Friday 18 March 2016. For further information and to complete the survey please visit.
