He Never Died follows Jack (Henry Rollins) in his battle with cannibalism and mental sobriety. An exceptionally prolonged life has brought detachment from social interactions. The fuse is lit when Jack’s past comes back to rattle him. Jack must now walk a tightrope of sobriety and try to eat as few people as possible in this violent tale of personal responsibility and self-worth. As it turns out, there are very few reasons to live when you can’t die.

This is probably one of the first movies that I have reviewed which I have watched on Netfllix, though I am sure if you looked you’ll be able to find this one at your friendly neighbourhood DVD store. I wasn’t very familiar with director Jason Krawczyk’s work but this was only his second ever feature. I loved the soundtrack for this movie and Krawczyk delivered something that was gritty and definitely worth watching. This is the kind of movie that expects you to accept it for what is, because it is not going to hold your hand and give you that much exposition about its main character until the final act and even then it was done in a manner that could not have been further from Highlander if it tried. Even though I’ve seen very little of Rollins’ work as an actor but I was kind of impressed by his performance especially it was such a contrast to what I have seen of his spoken word performances.
