Ricky (Julian Dennison) is a defiant young city kid who finds himself on the run with his cantankerous foster uncle (Sam Neill) in the wild New Zealand bush. A national manhunt ensues, and the two are forced to put aside their differences and work together to survive in this hilarious and heartfelt adventure. After recently surpassing the NZ box office record for the highest-grossing film of all time, Palace Cinemas announce that writer, director, and star of Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Taika Waititi will appear at a special preview screening of the film at Chauvel Cinema on Monday, followed by a Q&A session. Taika Waititi, who also wrote, directed and starred in the former highest-grossing NZ film, Boy, as well as hits Eagle vs. Shark and What We Do in the Shadows, will appear at Paddington’s Chauvel Cinema on Monday 23rd May for a Q&A after a screening of the film which commences at 6.30pm.
