With the emergence of the world’s first mutant, Apocalypse, the X-Men must unite to defeat his extinction level plan.

Now with the release of Apocalypse it seems that director Bryan Singer has more than redeemed himself for his 2003 offering X-men 2 which was the catalyst for the X-men film franchise briefly losing its traction (though it should be noted I did not revisit any of the previous films before going to see this one). Singer delivered something that was definitely worth watching, I loved the visual style that was brought to the movie and I was left kind of curious in the direction that the X-men are going to take within the marvel cinematic universe especially if you take into consideration Sophie Turner’s performance as the younger Jean Grey. Turner’s performance has inspired me to check out a little bit more of her work. I also liked the look of the younger Storm; Halle Berry’s look in the first trilogy seemed to be the polar opposite of how Alexandra Shipp looked. Yes of course there was just enough pandering to entertain the fans (most notably the use of Quicksilver) but as far as I could tell it was not to the extent that it took away from overall impact of the story.
