A mismatched pair of private eyes investigate the apparent suicide of a fading porn star in 1970s Los Angeles.
I suppose it’s kind of easy to make comparisons between Lethal Weapon and The Nice Guys because writer and director Shane Black wrote Lethal Weapon and a few of the other significant action/comedy movies of the past thirty years. But despite how talented Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling are as actors and their decent performances they didn’t have on onscreen chemistry on the same level as Mel Gibson and Danny Glover and their characters as far as this reviewer can tell are in no way similar and The Nice Guys has a lighter overall tone. But I feel that this is probably one of my favourite movies that I have watched in recent years that Shane Black has been involved in I enjoyed Black’s writing and I also found that some of the action sequences where amusing.
