A secret government agency recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency.
Supposedly Suicide Squad was met with some bad reviews by critics who saw this before the midnight screening I went to at my friendly neighbourhood cinema. For the record no I did not read any of the reviews though I was a little disenchanted when I heard about them, but Suicide Squad is definitely something that it is worth going to see.
There were some really good casting choices here though I suppose the stand-out performances where Jared Leto as the Joker (an interpretation that is possibly going to be remembered as one of the greatest) and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn (part of me was hoping that Harley would be introduced in a similar fashion to how she was introduced in Batman: Assault on Arkham. But that would have required a higher rating) and of course Viola Davis, Amanda Waller was menacingly brilliant without having to over-play it. Leto and Robbie where great together and I hope that are scheduled to reprise their roles at some point.
I really hope that not getting to bogged down in too much exposition becomes the new cool thing to do in ‘comic book’ movies, if it can be dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible, it means that the fans will get what they want a whole lot quicker. The Action. This efficiency is something that needs to be adopted when new actors take over roles that have been established in the audience’s eyes.
Be sure to stay for the Post Credits sequence which lays the ground work for the coming Justice League movie.
