Competition between the maid of honor and a bridesmaid, over who is the bride’s best friend, threatens to upend the life of an out-of-work pastry chef.
Okay, I’ve finally done I have officially watched 5 movies directed by Paul Feig. it’s something that I did not want to do but it’s done and it is going to be awhile before I watch another one of his movies, cause I’ve got a slight case of Feig overload. The only real problem that I can really see with his movies is when he pulls extra duty and writes the movie as well because they have tendency to try and be to many things and that really takes away from the viewing experience.
Now Bridesmaids wasn’t written by Feig it was written by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo and unlike a Feig penned screenplay it didn’t kill it’s good jokes with bad ones, it really wasn’t the best of stories that being said it wasn’t the worst either and most important of all it had a clear idea of the kind of movie it wanted to be (On a side note thankfully the food poisoning was underplayed and not taken to the Feig extreme).
Kristen Wiig gave a nice enough performance and her character’s meltdown towards the end of the movie was actually worth watching. It is always good to see Australian actors get work and Rebel Wilson was in this and it was exactly the kind of performance that you would expect from her and I have to ask “ Rebel, you do have a broader range then what we saw, right?”.
