An ex-con reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her.

I suppose this is another entry on the list of books that have been adapted from a novel that I haven’t read. Blood father was adapted from a novel of the same name by American novelist Peter Craig he also adapted his novel into the screenplay.
If you are looking for a big loud action movie, you might want to watch Suicide Squad instead because this is a little more heartfelt though I also found myself partly reminded of Peter Billingsley’s recent movie Term Life.. Judging by the amount of people that where in the cinema when I watched this Blood Father is probably going to be the Mel Gibson movie that gets ignored in favour of Hacksaw Ridge though you should watch both if you get the chance. My main complaint about this is its runtime of 87 minutes even though it was heartfelt I felt that needed the extra time for the ending to have the impact that it really needed. Both Mel Gibson and William Macy worked well together with the limited screen time they had together and I wasn’t familiar director Jean-François Richet or any of the other actors that where cast and Erin Moriarty gave a decent enough performance as Mel Gibson’s character’s daughter..
