Palace Cinemas has announced that they will open a new cinema, Palace Central, in the multi-award winning development, Central Park Mall, in Sydney’s Chippendale. “We have a passion for developing new opportunities within the cinema industry which allow us to engage with local communities throughout Australia.” Antonio Zeccola, Palace Cinemas’ Executive Chairman commented.
Zeccola explained that Palace will open their new 14 screen complex on Level 3 of the centre in late 2017. The cinema will also uphold the building’s ‘green’ ethos, utilising technology which will use recycled water to heat and cool the auditoria, negating the need for gas and reducing their carbon footprint. Mr. Zeccola added that with a new cinema recently confirmed for Double Bay, Palace Central will be the Australian, family-owned company’s fifth location in Sydney.
Glue Store Chairman, Hilton Seskin, is one of those retailers and commented “It’s a great addition to the centre. We are lucky enough to have the benefit of extended trading hours here every night until 8 pm, so a cinema is a great compliment to this. It’s going to encourage more people to come in at those later hours after work which is also great for retail.”
Mr. Zeccola Showing the best of quality mainstream and new release films, Palace Cinemas will also bring its trademark and much-loved collection of international film festivals to the precinct, delivering the best of contemporary cinema from Italy, Spain, and France, among other countries. A carefully curated program of stage-to-screen content from the world’s foremost dance and theatre companies, including Covent Garden, La Scala, Bolshoi Ballet, Opera D’Italia and National Theatre, will also feature.
