I suppose that the reason for reviewing the first three Pokemon movies was the success of Pokemon Go. For the record there are 19 movies that have been released over 17 years and at the moment I have no plans to review the other 16. I suppose we will have to see how popular this review is before I make plans to review any further pokemon movies.
These three are easily watched in a single afternoon and from an adult’s perspective these are serious light viewing and perhaps even a little even a little predictable (maybe more than just a little but I’ll leave that to you) but the nostalgic warm and fuzzy feeling that you get while watching these movies is more than enough for you not to care about their predictability. The movies have nice messages for a younger audience the Mewto Strikes Back’s message might seem a little hypocritical especially if you take into consideration the whole portion of society within the franchise that is dedicated to the capturing and forcing of animals to fight each other (though that’s maybe over analyzing things just a little).
I also kind of enjoyed the moments where Team Rocket broke the fourth wall, and they also had some of the better jokes across the three movies.
