Three ancient guardian beasts awaken to protect Japan against Godzilla.
With Godzilla’s “Millennium Period” which is 1999 to 2004 there seems to be noticeable changes in production values of the movies visually while they still seemingly stay true to the overall genre. Also for the record of the Godzilla movies that I have watched so far this is probably my favorite. What I thought that set Giant Monsters All-Out Attack from the other Godzilla movies that I have watched so far is the fact that this delved into the mythology of the monsters within the Godzilla universe. What I liked about Godzilla’s portrayl by Mizuho Yoshida is that a few little human mannerisms seemed creep into the performance during the fight scenes. I also kind of liked the look of Mothra.
I suppose the stand out performance of the movie was Chiharu Niiyama as Yuri Tachibana. There was a moment I really wasn’t expecting from a Godzilla movie in the third act when Niiyama’s character had a speech that actually made me cry.
