Zero, Gem and Del are aboard the recently stolen Rogue, on the run from the Imperium. An enormous experimental ship of unknown, alien origins, the Rogue had been outfitted with the latest Imperium technology, including the ship’s artificial intelligence. On the hunt to solve a mystery, while being chased by the evil General Vykar, Zero and Gem will cross paths with Tag Anaton (son of the Rogue’s former commander) and his android protector, Guardian. Tag’s not happy to see them.
Being over the age of 30 I might of be a little unqualified to review this episode of Prisoner Zero (but I did not watch this in a crowded cinema with parents taking their kids to the movies, so it’s all good). On TV there seems to be a distinct lack of Australian content so it is always good to see it. It is also good that there is not a complete vacuum of Australian produced children’s content.
Prisoner Zero seemed to have a completely different to what I was expecting, I guess I thought the series was going to have a slightly more polished “computer generated” animated than the series’ actual visual style that seemed to be very similar to most full motion comics that I have seen.
There was some brilliant writing that a great flow to it and the banter between the characters both good and bad is what really held my attention in the episode that I watched. There are some things that some younger viewers might find a little frightening so mum and or dad might want to watch this series with them.
