okay, last week on FaceBook about how it was a surprise to see The Highlander Tv series on Australian tv screens, and it was. i suppose it would be a surprise to see any of the mid-90’s action series that i used to watch.now i’m writing this because there is continuing talk of remakes most notably the original movie. On the point of remaking the 1986 original directed by Mr. Russell Mulchay HELL NO!!! there is no real need to all that really needs to be done is for it. all you need to do in the next anniversary release which by all accounts is March 7th is go back with that 2016 soon to be 2017 computer effects wizzardry and clean up all the quickening scenes and in the final scene remove the wires from McCloud’s back in the final quickening, that’s it nothing else. You don’t even have to change the music. Freddie Mercury and Queen their music MADE this movie and is a power lesser mortals should never mess with.

Now to all the franchise hunters out there who insist on doing something, there is actually something that you could do that is actually positive for the franchise. You’ve heard of the proverb ‘if it Ain’t broke don’t fix it’ ? well here is a small secret 1986 movie it Ain’t broke so don’t fix it look at the remaining movies in the franchise and work on them and make them better and in the spirit of more female roles maybe you can look to Highlander: The Raven that ran from 1998 – 1999, though of course if you look at The Raven you should look to to the series it spun off of which ran from 1992 – 1998 and just maybe you’ll have less of a risk of being beheaded like the filmmakers in the MCU.
