Score 3/6

When the forces of the Dark Kingdom threaten to destroy the peace, four guardian warriors will awaken.

Alright I came across the fan made movie on YouTube and this was director David Paritsky’s first ever movie. Now yes there are some problems with this movie, most notably the visual effects looked like that they would be more at home in direct-to-video Action movie from the mid-nineties and the audio did not seem right in some places. It should also be noted that with a run time over two hours for a casual fan of Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon was a before school cartoon for me) it takes a bit of an effort to watch this movie. However, I probably should cut Paritsky some slack for some of these problems because could easily be overcome with more experience and hopefully even a bigger budget to work with.
Speaking of the movie’s low budget (the technical term for this movie’s budget ranks somewhere below micro-budget) I was impressed with the steps that were taken to make this come across as a live action cartoon. I’ve previously seen this with some Japanese action movies and to a greater affect the live Asterix and Obelix movies that have been released. Considering that the majority of the cast to my knowledge had been in one maybe two movies there was some decent enough performances and I was impressed by Mary Beth Schroeder who was cast as Sailor Moon and Sailor Venus.
