Score 4/6

A young woman whose father has been imprisoned by a terrifying beast offers herself in his place, unaware that her captor is actually a prince, physically altered by a magic spell.

I suppose watching this was homework for the upcoming live action adaption of Beauty and the Beast staring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, and I suppose the reason why it has taken me so long to watch this version was due to the lack of the existence of the business known as ‘Rent-a-Kid’ (for those of you who might not know I’m an overweight 30-something male who has realised that he looks out of place in the cinema when he goes to watch family or kids movies).
This particular version of Beauty and the Beast is a feel good kind of movie that everybody should watch at least once. Though I would recommend that you should watch this one on the biggest screen possible because I felt that there are one or two scenes that seem to lose their impact.
The character Gaston seems too dark for a ‘Disney’ movie, I got the impression that the character could have been on the same bus as Billy Bush and the now President Donald Trump.
