When Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Dr. Sienna Brooks, and together they must race across Europe against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.

I know lately I have been a little hostile to movie franchises lately but, the seemingly lack of effort made by filmmakers with their cinematic offerings makes it all too easy to pick at all the negatives of a given movie. Now both Tom Hanks and Ron Howard have a lot of goodwill banked because of their respective previous works. But all that goodwill that they did have really was not enough to overcome the fundamental flaw of this movie. Howard dropped the ball and failed to build any ‘race against the clock’ tension. Sure there was a great cast and there some brilliant dream sequences, but they were not enough to rescue this movie.
