A big thank you to You Tube comedy trio SketchShe who took the time to answer some questions about the upcoming Megastar Talent Competition.
How did SketchShe come to be?
I (Lana) met Shae when we were doing a promo job in Sydney for the opening of Topshop. Our days consisted of riding around on bikes giving out store vouchers, getting sore bottoms (but looking fashionable, of course!) We found that we had a similar sense of humour and shared a love for comedy, there definitely being a void in female comedy at that time. So we started shooting sketches on weekends, roping in as many friends and extras as possible and ultimately put together the beginning of a sketch show. Mads joined us during this process and soon the brand, SketchSHE, was born!
What is the Megastar talent competition? How is it different to other talent competitions?
Megastar allows anyone and everyone to be involved irrespective of their location or access to hi tech equipment! You can simply upload a video using your phone and instantly you can be in the running. It also has a massive prize of 1 Million US dollars and features SketchSHE! 😉
What is your role in the Megastar talent competition?
Consider SketchSHE a combined hostess with the most-ess! We are also hoping to maybe enter the competition under fake names…
How do you enter the competition?
Anyone with a Youtube account can enter by downloading the Megastar app and uploading a video of their talent. We’re looking for a broad range of talents! Then performers can reach out to their friends and fans on social media and get them to vote for their submission!
How do you watch the competition
People watch and vote through the Megastar app.
What are some of the favorite videos that you have done?
Our favourite videos would have to be those involving music and choreography! We love the opportunity to be creative and use pop music as a driving factor (see what we did there!)– it’s a great way for our audience to feel connected to us no matter where they are from!
What is your favorite movie?
Lana: Priscilla Queen of the Desert
Madison: Back to the Future trilogy
Shae-Lee: Kill Bill
