Warring alien and predator races descend on a rural US town, where unsuspecting residents must band together for any chance of survival.
If you ever wondered whatever happened to the Alien V Predator franchise (AVP), it was murdered by AVP: Requiem. That might be a slight exaggeration, no movie franchise truly dies especially if you take into consideration what George Clooney did to the Batman franchise. So, I suppose if we are going to be accurate the AVP franchise is in a coma. We can only hope that’s it’s a deep one.
This is an emotional flat movie that deserves to be forgotten, The Strause brothers Colin and Greg (who at the time where directing their first movie) should not have been let near the set of AVP Requiem let alone the director’s chair, they seemed to be incapable of getting anything resembling an emotion from their actors.
Though it would be very easy to lay all the blame at the feet of the ‘directing’ team The Strause brothers but some of the blame for this ‘movie’ has to be shared by the writers for the simple sin of creating a disproportionately large small town and with too many characters. And in turn the effort to devote an equal amount of time to all of the characters in the movie has ended up causing the filmmakers to deliver a movie that is emotionally worthless and forgettable.
