The adventures of a band of space warriors who work to protect the universe from the evil overlord Thanos.
This television series originally premiered on September 26, 2015 on Disney XD and was renewed for a second season on March 11, 2017.
For the record I have only watched 6 episodes of the first season, I’m not entirely sure why I watched so many episodes. I suppose it could be because I am a sucker for punishment.
I really was not that impressed by this series, I have come across other examples of Marvel’s animation in the past and they have been good and in no way painful to watch like the first episode of this series seemed to be. I suppose part of the reason for this pain was because I was expecting the cast of the live action Guardians of the Galaxy movie to be providing the voice for their respective characters (I might have mentioned to one of my cousins via messenger that this was proof that Marvel shouldn’t do animated anything). I will admit that I might have had a couple of laughs while watching the episodes that I watched but these laughs where not enough to wash away the ‘why am I watching this?’ feelings. I suppose that question can easily be answered by saying that your over the age of 30 and this is a series that is clearly for the younger fans of Guardians of the Galaxy who might have been taken to the GOTG movies by their parents.
It should be noted Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has stated that it is not a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe nor connected to the feature film or its sequel.
