After returning to the criminal underworld to repay a debt, John Wick discovers that a large bounty has been put on his life.
I should have written the review for John Wick Chapter 2 a few a days ago. As you probably have guessed I was procrastinating on it, so here it is. Finally.
This might not be the Keanu Reeves movie that I’m dying to watch, that the honor goes to the rumored potential third Bill & Ted Movie (I just need to hurry up and wait on that front) but yes, I am still glad that I got out and watched John Wick 2. For those of you who don’t know the events for Chapter 2 take place four days after the original movie ended. It was good to see that there is directorial continuity but there was some changes behind the camera with a new director of photography and editor. This move changed the overall feel of chapter 2. I might not have done any homework going into this movie by re-watching the original movie but the fight scenes chapter 2 giving them a faster pace and making it feel a little chaotic.
It was good to see that filmmakers broadened the scope of the series’ universe showing how Wick prepares for a ‘hit’, I also thought that the general public’s reaction to random acts of violence breaking out was rather interesting. It was good to see Australian Ruby Rose cast and I think that she probably gave a better performance in chapter 2 then she did in The Return of Xander Cage, while Riccardo Scamarcio gave what should be called a layered performance.
