Village Cinemas is set to open the doors to another Vjunior cinema from Friday 22 September. Located at Knox, Vjunior in partnership with Hot Wheels contributes to the entertainment company’s dedication for providing customers with a World of Movie Experiences. Located in Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs, Village Cinemas Knox will invite junior guests to experience a new cinema concept, designed by kids, for kids.
After the huge success of last year’s Vjunior cinema debut at Village Cinemas Southland and the more recent opening at Village Cinemas Fountain Gate, General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Mohit Bhargava said, “We believe we have successfully filled the gap in the market for children’s entertainment, and want to continue to bring this exciting offering to more people through further expansions at our cinema sites.”
Adrian Witcombe, Head of Innovation and Strategy at Village Cinemas added, “iconic and distinctly unique elements in this concept will all feature at The Vjunior Knox in-cinema experience, including the indoor slide (a popular attraction at Vjunior Southland and Fountain Gate), along with a range of seating options available, including custom-fit bean bag seats and lounges for kids, and more traditional seating for the big kids at heart.”
Witcombe went on to explain that the cinema maintains the child friendly environment, with modified volume and lighting levels, a shorter pre-show and the inclusion of an intermission, allowing children to play and take snack and bathroom breaks. A special kid’s menu is also on offer, accompanied by a coffee cart for the adults to enjoy. Leading toy brand, Mattel, has partnered with Village Cinemas Australia to offer an array of cinema foyer activities to keep the little ones occupied before the movie starts. Vjunior driven by Hot Wheels includes Hot Wheels play tables to challenge yourself and compete to find the fastest car, a Mega Blok play wall, and the opportunity for children to create their own Hot Wheels artwork and see it come to life on the big screen through custom built interactive scan and play technology.
Vjunior ambassador and Kids’ WB Host, Lauren Phillips is looking forward to the launch of another child friendly cinema.
“It’s such a delight to see how much children, and adults, are enjoying the cinema. Every detail was executed with kids in mind, and it shows through seeing how instantly comfortable children are in this area. I’m kind of jealous this didn’t exist when I was a kid!” Phillips said.
