The world’s top bodyguard gets a new client, a hit man who must testify at the International Criminal Court. They must put their differences aside and work together to make it to the trial on time.
Okay, when my accountant found out that I had that I had not seen this one in the cinema she told that I needed to watch it. On the face of it with Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L Jackson and Gary Oldman cast in the lead roles it had a lot going for it, considering that both Jackson and Reynolds excel in the action and comedy genre and Oldman was the perfect choice as the villain of the movie. Comedy is purely a subjective medium and there are times when I think that the number of movies that I watch might have made me a little cynical when it comes to the comedy genre as there wasn’t as many laugh out loud moments as I was hoping for, though Reynolds’ scene at the café at the end of movie has stand with me for a few days. This is director Patrick Hughes’ third feature (the other two being Red Hill and The Expendables 3) he seems very capable of committing an action sequence to the screen with moments that will leave you thinking ‘whoa that’s cool’. I really would like to see Hughes try his hand at a comedy because some of the jokes seemed a little cheap.
