A boy who has a bad Christmas ends up accidentally summoning a festive demon to his family home.
It is the time of year again and I suppose I should try and get at least one Christmas movie reviewed this year and I suppose I went a little different with Krampus, given that a horror movie this is not the typical movie that you would watch around Christmas.
Krampus might not have enough to be a movie I would watch yearly at Christmas time and it should also be noted that as horror movies (the last Christmas Horror movie that I remember watching was David Steiman’s 2005 movie Santa’s Slay starring Bill Goldberg. And for the record no I do not intend on revisiting this one) go this is on the tamer side of things (I suppose that is one of the benefits of being rated PG-13 in the US) but the movie was based on an interesting concept about the spirit of giving and what can happen to you if you forget it.
I’m not that familiar with director Michael Dougherty’s work and despite the concept that Krampus is based it really isn’t that much of an attention grabbing movie though there was a couple of interesting moments at the beginning and when Omi portrayed by Krista Stadler explains Krampus.
