St Kilda Film Festival, Australia’s longest-standing and publicly owned short film festival, is pleased to announce the 2018 award nominees in the running for more than $50,000 worth of cash and prizes across 17 categories.
City of Port Phillip Mayor Bernadene Voss says the Council is excited to announce the high calibre award nominees ahead of Saturday’s Closing Night Ceremony.
Cr Voss said that the 2018 St Kilda Film Festival’s most prestigious title of Best Short Film will see one of four nominees take home a $10,000 cash prize courtesy of the City of Port Phillip. This year’s nominees for Best Short Film are The Intentions of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Lost Property Office, Mrs McCutcheon and Eye Contact.
“The City of Port Phillip is always proud to be able to showcase the innovative and inspiring films created and starred in by some of Australia’s best talent. The St Kilda Film Festival has an incredible variety of films shown in this year’s program. We look forward to revealing the winners of the 35th St Kilda Film Festival awards later this week at the Closing Night event”, Cr Voss said.
The St Kilda Film Festival’s Top 100 Films are judged by a panel of industry professionals, with the 2018 judging panel made up of Edwina Exton, Cassandra Magrath and Neil Pigot. This year’s winners will be announced at the St Kilda Film Festival’s Closing Night Awards on Saturday 26 May at the St Kilda Town Hall.
