Foul-mouthed mutant mercenary Wade Wilson (AKA. Deadpool), brings together a team of fellow mutant rogues to protect a young boy with supernatural abilities from the brutal, time-traveling cyborg, Cable.
I did not do my homework and re-watch the previous Deadpool movie before watching this one. To be honest its not really needed. I loved the opening credits which in a lot of ways reminded me of the James Bond movies. There where fewer flashbacks which I guess made the movie seem a little less chaotic as the first movie might have seemed at least at first because the scenes with X-Force really do seem to drive up the wrong way of sanity street. Though the same guys who wrote the first movie wrote the second movie the comedy in Deadpool 2 seemed to have a different style which is only to be expected considering that director David Leitch did not direct the first movie.
I thought that Julian Dennison, better known for his role in Hunt for the Wilderpeople was a surprise casting choice. Dennison gave a good performance though I got the impression that his interpretation of Firefist was practically identical to the character of Ricky from Hunt for the Wilderpeople. There is a risk of Dennison being type casted but considering that he is 16 its way too early to be thinking things like that.
Josh Brolin gave good performance as Cable and his character does bring some interesting questions and chances for mischief to future Deadpool movies, I thought that the stand character of the movie was Zazie Beetz who played Domino. Beetz brought a sense of cool to the character that has me interested in the future for the character of Domino.
