A selection of films screened at the 35th St Kilda Film Festival which concluded on 26 May will be showcased during the 3-month tour, providing film buffs from around the state the opportunity to view some of Australia’s celebrated filmmaking talent.
The Victorian Tour will be visiting metro locations including Cinema Nova (Carlton), STARWARD Whisky Distillery (Port Melbourne) and Cameo Cinema (Belgrave). Regional destinations include Fish Creek, Castlemaine, Mallacoota, Ballarat, Swanpool and Queenscliff.
Highlights from Australia’s Top 100 Short Film Competition will screen at each destination including 2018 award winners Lost Property Office (Best Short Film / Best Animation), Partners (Best Comedy) and The Intentions of F. Scott Fitzgerald (Best Achievement in Sound Post Production / Best Achievement in Screenplay).
City of Port Phillip Mayor, Cr Bernadene Voss, is excited about the films reaching an even larger audience through the expansion of the Tour to include more metro and regional destinations.
“We’re incredibly pleased to be taking some of this year’s best Australian short films on the road for the wider Victorian community to see. The films in this year’s Festival represent the best of the Australian film industry and we’re proud to be able to screen them across the State,” Cr Voss commented.
