Years after he fought his way out of an inescapable prison, Ray Breslin has organized a new top-notch security force. But when one of his team members goes missing, Breslin must return to the hell he once escaped from.
I really could have gone without watching Escape Plan 2. I really could have. But I decided to watch this one because I watched the first Escape Plan which was released back in 2013 and because I think I might have seen the trailer for Escape Plan 2 once at the friendly neighbourhood cinema. I am glad that I only rented Escape Plan 2 but in hindsight I probably should have waited a while before even renting it (through Google Play) so then it would have been cheaper.
Now what I will say that if you are after a non-pharmaceutical cure for insomnia, then I suggest that you try Escape Plan 2. While watching this I actually had to rewind this a couple of times, and even the plot seemed to be flawed and unimpressive. I found that I was unable to emotionally invest in any of the characters and in the end, I did not care what happened to them. I can kind of understand seeing Dave Bautista being cast in this but as action movies go Sylvester Stallone is capable of so much better.
