New parents around Victoria collectively rejoice as another baby-friendly activity becomes available on weekends. Village Cinemas Australia is excited to announce the expansion of their Baby Friendly Sessions to Saturday mornings in addition to their usual Wednesday mornings. The sessions will run from Saturday 23 February until Saturday 30 March at select Village Cinemas locations including Fountain Gate, Karingal and Southland. These introductory dates are a pilot to gauge customer feedback for the Saturday sessions, with a view to extend across other Village Cinemas locations. Nic Robin, General Manager – Marketing at Village Entertainment said that Village Cinemas understands the importance of family time, and Baby Friendly Sessions encourage families to enjoy a film at the cinema with their baby in an environment that is flexible and receptive to their needs. Removing any intimidating features to new parents, the specialised cinema session has easy access for prams, rockers and carriers with slightly dimmed lighting, to easily keep an eye on the little ones. Mr. Robin added that the session times will offer more parents the opportunity to enjoy a film out of home.
“Our Baby Friendly Sessions are a big hit among parents’ groups, but we understand that Wednesdays do not suit all mothers and fathers. We hope the addition of Saturday sessions will provide parents with another entertaining activity.” Mr Robin commented “We’re dedicated to creating environments for all movie lovers, even those with little ones. I understand first-hand that there are often limited baby-friendly forms of entertainment for parents, so I’m really looking forward to this expansion. The welcoming audience will also not mind a few grizzles, goos and gahs by our littlest movie lovers.”
