The story of two North Carolina teens, Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan, who are thrown together after Landon gets into trouble and is made to do community service.
Okay, I have vague memories of watching this one at the friendly neighbourhood cinema and I recently decided to revisit this one when I realised that I had not reviewed this one for The Movie Boards. The Bigger surprise is that I have read the Nicholas Sparks book that was adapted into this movie. It should be noted that there are differences between the book and the movie was that the movie had more contemporary setting then the book which was set in the late fifties.
Okay, now that I have given you some to recover from the shock that I have read the book, we can get on with the review.
Was A Walk to Remember as good as I remember it to be? Perhaps not. Don’t get me wrong, this is still a watchable and sweet movie as you would expect from just any movie adapted from a Nicholas Sparks movie, you just have to keep in mind that it has been at least 10 years since I last watched this. It still is a watchable movie, I was a little surprised to see that Clayne Crawford, who went on to be cast as Martin Riggs in the television series version of Lethal Weapon was cast in this.
Both Shane West and Mandy Moore had decent onscreen chemistry. I will also admit that at the time the scene Moore sings Only Hope in the school musical might have resulted in a minor crush on Ms Moore (which was helped by the way the scene was shot).
