Teen Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man of his reality, crossing his path with five counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.
Perhaps I should have gotten my act together and watched Into the Spider-Verse because there are a few shots that I feel would have been best seen on a large a screen as possible, though considering how loudly I found myself laughing at times it was probably a good idea that I saw this on DVD.
I suppose the reasons why I finally got around to watching this one was the fact that they where going to be using the multiverse and perhaps the fact John Mulaney was voicing Spider-Ham. …I know I am supposed to be a series movie critic but even I’m allowed to have shallower moments, beside go and watch the bonus footage on the of Mulaney’s performance as Spider-Ham its hilarious. I also enjoyed the relationship between Miles and Peter B. Parker.
What I really loved about this was the fact that even though into the spider-verse was an animated movie it presented itself as if it was a comic book. The only other movies I have seen in recent years where some of the live action Asterix movies and though it has been awhile since I have last watched a live action Asterix movie I would say that into the spider verse did it better for the simple reason the movie was already in that wheelhouse to begin with.
