For those of you who have been playing along at home with this series of reviews proudly brought to you, courtesy of my own personal insanity, the sequel to Transmorphers, which is technically is actually a prequel was reviewed in Mysterious Insanity 2.
Despite its low IMDB ranking Transmorphers is probably one of the more tolerable movies that I watched during Mysterious Insanity 3. I would also like to add that Transmorphers was brought forward in the viewing order because the DVD player that I have used to watch all of the movies featured in the Mysterious Insanity series decided that it did not want to play Atlantic Rim: Resurrection. So, I would again like to take this opportunity to say to The Asylum ‘Thanks guys for selling me a dud DVD’.
I wasn’t familiar with anybody involved cast in Transmorphers and the only thing that really made it tolerable to watch was that the actors. It actually seemed that they were giving performances of particular note was Matthew Wolf & Eliza Swenson , I think that I would be hard-pressed to point anybody whose performance could be described as being flat and emotionless. It should be noted that it seems to me that one of the calling cards of this studio would be flat and emotionless performances by actors involved in their movies.
Now, visually Transmorphers is a product of The Asylum’s attitudes towards budgeting. Being that the small budget combined with questionable and its set dressing gave me the overall that this movie was a cross between a bad 90’s science-fiction movie and a fan made movie that was inspired by the Games Workshop.
