Score 2.5/6 – Based on what I had to pay for this $399 USD I would have been more impressed with this projector if I did not have to make any additional purchases.
Those of you who have been reading my reviews for awhile have probably noticed that sometimes I say that some movies need to be watched on the largest screen possible. Now, you can either buy yourself the latest largest flat screen you can find, or you can try something a little different. A few months ago, based on an ad I came across in my Facebook feed, I brought myself a Prima 1080p HD Pocket Projector.
Now when I got my projector I was a little annoyed to find that it arrived with a Euro plug and that I had by a universal plug adapter so that I would be able to charge it, I also found that initially that there was some issues with the time it took for the projector to boot up once I had turned it on (this could be limited to the projector I had brought through the mail, I’m not entirely sure). I would have liked it if the user manual came with a little instruction on how to use the projector, but then again user manuals do seem to be going the way of the Dodo. I also found that the projector’s speakers where not of the best quality, I felt that I’ve had clock radios with better quality speakers and I ended up buying myself a third party speakers to use with the projector.
According to its website Prima casts cinema-quality video up to 200 inches onto any surface, I have found myself enjoying the ability of being able to project movies on to my ceiling from a small coffee table at around 2 meters.
