I’m sure that there is more than a few of you out there who have heard of the 2005 movie Jarhead directed by Sam Mendes starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jamie Foxx based on a book written by Anthony Swofford. Of those who have heard that the 2005 movie has three sequels and by sequels, I mean that they are ‘faux sequels’ in that they have nothing to do with the original movie. For those of you who are wondering, yes, I was surprised that they did another one considering that to the best of my recollection the other two sequels are just big loud action movies. For those of you who might be wondering the law of return is an actual Israeli law that was passed into law in 1950 and not just a Hollywood construction. It was also clear that law of return had a bigger budget compared to the sequels. I was very unfamiliar with most of the people involved with the cast and production of this movie. It was good to see Robert Patrick cast in this; Patrick has a great authoritative look. It has been awhile since I have last seen him cast in movie, the last role of his I’ve was probably in the Television Scorpion.
My biggest problem with this movie was the ending and the fact it did not have biggest emotional pop that you would usually expect from a movie like this.
