Okay, I know I’m lazy but I like to think that I get there in the end, no matter how long it takes. Enough of my laziness its time to take a look at something for the kids.

This is the third movie in a trilogy that was inspired by the Hans Christian Anderson fairy-tale from 1844 The Snow Queen. I would suggest that you watch the other two movies in the trilogy before watching Fire and Ice but it is not required watching Fire and Ice. Even though this is featured in a Russian Film Festival this movie had been dubbed into English. The voice actor I was really familiar with was Dee Bradley Baker.
For those of you who might be wondering yes it has been a while since I have last seen an animated movie (there might be plans to watch a few more in the coming week) and if The Russian Film Festival had of actually made it to the cinema I would have recommended ‘Rent-A-Kid’ for the adults who actually wanted to go see this. For those of you who might not know ‘Rent-A-Kid’ is where Aunts or Uncles of a certain age and yes even Grandparents take their nieces, nephews or Grandchildren to the cinema. Speaking of the cinema I would have liked to have seen this movie on a larger screen.

In the past I have seen better animated movies Rudolf the Black Cat immediately springs to mind and there is also Frozen (which was inspired by the same Fairy tale). However, there is still a lot to like about Fire and Ice. I enjoyed the animation effects used for the magical snow and I enjoyed the soundtrack. Parents even though there are some scary moments throughout the movie there is usually a laugh coming to keep thing light-hearted. You also must love the fact that the movie is about the importance of family.
