Still unlicensed and under scrutiny, Bryce is forced into action by Darius’s even more volatile wife, the infamous international con artist Sonia Kincaid. As Bryce is driven over the edge by his two most dangerous protectees, the trio gets in over their heads in a global plot and soon finds that they are all that stands between Europe and a vengeful and powerful madman.

Umm …. This one is a mixed bag, if the cinema was anything to go by some of the jokes did fall a little flat, though I am kind of glad that I did not do my homework and rewatch The Hitman’s Bodyguard before watching this. Now, I would be interested in hearing what everybody else thinks about The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, is the original better than the sequel? I am sure there are more than a few people who have asked themselves the question ‘Is this movie really needed or even wanted?’.
It was good to see that Patrick Hughes came back as director as well as Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson in the respective roles as Michael Bryce and Darius Kincaid. Though I did get the since that they where unable to capture the pair’s odd couple humour. I enjoyed Salma Hayek’s performance as Sonja it has been a while since I have seen movie and probably just as long since I last her in an action movie. It was cool to see that Morgan Freeman was cast in this. Though I did feel that the concept for Antonio Banderas’s character was better suited for something like a Bond movie.
There where some laughs in the movie though most of them seemed to be in the third act of the movie. My biggest problem with The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard was that a lot of the jokes that failed to be funny repeated several times throughout the movie in hope that the joke will land and be funny.
