A professional thief with $40 million in debt and his family’s life on the line must commit one final heist – rob a futuristic airborne casino filled with the world’s most dangerous criminals.

The big question is why the heck did I watch this? I suppose it has something to do with the fact that I have watched a lot of movies featuring wrestler turned actors. Money Plane is not one of the more memorable movies on that list. It has been more then awhile since I last saw Adam Copeland in an acting role and this was not the best of roles in what ended up being a largely forgettable movie, despite the fact that Money Plane’s plot seemed promising.
Even though it had a promising concept it was poorly handled, being a heist movie with a runtime of under 90 minutes Money Plane needed put its foot on the gas and not let up until the credits rolled, it barely managed a jogging pace. It did try to be a slick heist movie. However, the ending the filmmakers were going for was easily telegraphed and they failed to justify what they were attempting in the third act. If it were not for the ‘rule of 5’ I would probably have harsher words about Andrew Lawrence’s ability as a director. I can only hope that Lawrence either goes to film school or finds a genre that he is better suited to direct.
I enjoyed the introduction of Kelsey Grammer’s character ‘The Rumble’. However, Grammar wasn’t enough to save Money Plane.
