I Believe in A Thing Called Love Coming to Netflix

Yulin Kuang will adapt the feature film I Believe In A Thing Called Love based on Maurene Goo’s YA novel of the same name, Byung-hun Lee is attached to star. Maurene Goo is the author of several acclaimed and award-winning young adult novels, including Somewhere Only We Know and The Way You Make Me Feel. I Believe in A Thing Called Love is about Desi, an overachieving high school senior decides to use the laws of K-drama romances to land herself a boyfriend.
“I Believe in a Thing Called Love reminds me of the aspirational stories that I loved as a teenager. Maurene found a way to tap into the fun world of K-dramas through the perspective of a girl who learns that life is something that you can’t control, and Yulin’s voice was perfect for the adaptation. We’re thrilled to partner with Netflix and can’t wait for audiences to fall in love with Desi.” Mary Lee commented.
“I Believe in a Thing Called Love has found a home with Netflix! I’m so proud of my amazing team—Yulin, A-Major, and BH Entertainment—and it’s a thrill to finally share this exciting news.” Maurene Goo commented.
Netflix previously acquired the rights to Maurene Goo’s novel Somewhere Only We Know, which will also be adapted into a feature film.
