Teddy wakes up the morning after his wedding to discover that every few minutes he’s jumping forward to the next year of his life.
I don’t remember seeing any trailers for Long Story Short, I just kind of stumbled across it on Google Play. Now, even though the premise of the two movies is completely different, sitting here writing this I can’t help but think about Groundhog Day, I suppose if you think about it both films strived for a similar end goal. I thought that the special effect used to show the transition of time for Teddy seemed very appropriate for the telling of a metaphor. The opening New Year’s Eve scene was the sort of thing that you would expect form almost any romantic comedy with the meeting of Teddy and Leanne, the addition of the supernatural element to the plot made for a nice twist on the genre. There was also some really nice shots of Sydney.
I loved the beach scene between Teddy and his daughter Talulah portrayed by Cheyenne Gunn (who was in her first feature film). I was a little surprised to see that Noni Hazlehurst was cast in this and I enjoyed her performance.
