A mysterious force knocks the moon from its orbit and sends it hurtling on a collision course toward earth.
Okay every now and again you just have to watch a ‘Humanity Fuck Yeah’ movie and Roland Emmerich is certainly more then capable of delivering a ‘HFY’ movie with explosions on a scale that you would expect from your garden variety Michael Bay movie. I will admit that the last Emmerich movie that I watched was (I think) Independence Day: Resurgence left something of a bad taste in my mouth and Moonfall did a little bit wipe that taste out of my mouth.
If I wasn’t procrastinating so much at the time, Moonfall would have been something that I would have wanted to watch at the cinema, but so long as you don’t do anything like watch it on a laptop you’d be in for a decent enough movie watching experience and there was some stunning Moon moments throughout the movie..
Both Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson gave decent enough performances as you would expect from them. John Bradley’s performance as KC certainly seemed to be the heart of the movie, though I couldn’t help but feel that the filmmakers cheapened his sacrifice somewhat with the scene before the credits.Charlie Plummer gave an okay performance though I have to admit I felt that the Father/Son storyline that he had opposite Patrick Wilson was enjoyable though a little cliched.
