A mother, Victoria, is trying to put her dark past as a Russian drug courier behind her, but retired cop Damon forces Victoria to do his bidding by holding her daughter hostage.
If you don’t remember seeing any trailers for this one at the cinema, don’t worry because I’m pretty sure there wasn’t, though around the time it was released I vaguely remember seeing an extended preview for Vanquish on YouTube. I’m fairly certain that this was filmed right around the time Ruby Rose was on Batwoman and that show wasn’t the flavor of the month with some of the pop culture talking heads on YouTube because of Batwoman. Outrage marketing is a pain in the ass, it always seems to come down to a case of poor communication skills. It should be noted that by Morgan Freeman standards this is nowhere near average. Up until this point I have only ever seen Ruby Rose in minor roles in a few movie roles, I’m practically unfamiliar with her television work. Vanquish was perhaps a little predictable but certainly watchable that was helped by an amount of intelligence and flair with Rose’s portrayal of Victoria, that left me curious to see what types of Action movies Rose might pop up in in the future.
