Detective Danny Fisher discovers his girlfriend has been kidnapped by an ex-con tied to Fisher’s past, and he’ll have to successfully complete 12 challenges in order to secure her safe release.
I do remember watching this one around the time it was released, though I don’t specifically remember if I ever reviewed it. For those of you playing along at home, this was the first of three ‘12 Rounds’ movies; the other two movies did not feature the character of Danny Fisher who was portrayed by John Cena. In the past I have found that movies released by WWE Studios are a little hit and miss, personally I believe that the first decent movie that they released was That’s What I Am in 2011. Perhaps because I was rewatching this ten years after I originally watched it but the movie didn’t seem as action packed as I remember it, though if memory serves the last couple of movies that I have watched that were directed by Renny Harlin haven’t been my favorites. Cena gave a decent enough performance in what was at the time his second ever movie role.Though with his performance Aidan Gillen as the villain he certainly made the movie watchable.
