Okay, there has been a small amount of procrastination with the writing of this review, but with how Deadpool and Wolverine has been going at the box office worldwide it wouldn’t surprise me if it had an extended run at the cinema. As you’d expect Deadpool and Wolverine is a wildly hilarious movie perhaps slightly  funnier than the second of the Deadpool movies I loved the dance/fight sequence at the start of the movie (what do you think is the funniest Deadpool movie?). I will admit that for the past couple of years that I’ve avoided MCU movies and I feel that Deadpool and Wolverine marks a change in the way Marvel approaches their movies. In certain circles when it comes to franchise movies Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is a bad thing. I feel that the only way that DEI is a bad thing is when lazy filmmakers with absolutely no knowledge of the intellectual property that they are adapting into movies, breaking the important rule that the story is important above all else. I loved that the filmmakers took the opportunity to expand the character of Deadpool making him more of a fully fledged character and less of a collection of jokes. Hugh Jackman coming back as Wolverine was a great move, because it was big tick in the movie’s nostalgic warm fuzzy feelings column and Jackman and Reynolds played effortlessly off of each other. I have to wonder the direction the filmmakers had of gone if Jackman had not have decided to return to the role. It will also be interesting to see if there are more Hugh Jackman Wolverine movies in our future or if they will pull a Robert Downey Jr. with Jackman and give him a new role in the MCU. It was great to see Jennifer Garner as Electra and Wesley Snipes as Blade as they are the first comic book movies I remember watching. it was also great to see the creative vision for Channing Tatum as Gambit and it was great learning about some of the actors chosen for the Deadpool Corps.
