The Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

I’m not entirely sure why I have waited sit down and watch this one, I’d like to think that I was busy watching something else but we all know that there was most like a degree of procrastination involved. I was a little bummed when I realised that Gil Kenan directed this and not Jason Reitman. I know it might sound silly but I’ve always preferred movie trilogies directed by the only one director ( even though there might not be any news yet there probably is going to be a third movie. Much to the annoyance of Ghostbusters 2016).

I kind of enjoyed the direction they went with the character of Phoebe, I actually found myself hating the character around halfway through the second act. I would have liked to have seen either more time dedicated to her character or the overall pace of the plot was quicker. But that wasn’t going to happen given that so many people were returning for the second film. There was also good and bad examples of comedy where it’s awkward for the sake of being awkward. For the bad example you just have to look to Kumail Nanjiani’s entire performance. In a nostalgic sort of way to see William Atherton return as Walter Peck. I was a little surprised that James Acaster pop up in this as Lars.
