The Die Hard Christmas Question

Agree or Disagree ?

In about a week, that time honoured internet tradition of the debate of ‘Is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?” Personally I don’t see the problem with Die hard being considered a Christmas movie. All Christmas movies do not have to be sugary sweet movies there’s the “Christmas horror” sub genre with movies like Santa’s Slay from 2005 starring Bill Goldberg, the Silent Night, Deadly Night film series with a total of 6 movies released between 1984 & 2012 (I’m only vaguely familiar with series because I’ve watched the 6th movie Silent Night released in 2012) and then there’s  Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale is a 2010 Finnish fantasy action horror comedy film.  So hands up, who hasn’t felt just a little bit frustrated to the point of violence with a sharp metal object on or about December 25th because of friends or extended family staying in the spare room?

We all know that Die Hard takes place during an office Christmas party during the Christmas season is what makes it a Christmas movie. Then because of that simple logic Christmas movie status has to given to Die Hard 2 and the first Lethal Weapon movie. Now, if any Die Hard movie is considered to be a Christmas movie then Die Hard by the band Guyz Night the eleventh track on their album Guyz Nite Meanz Everything has to be considered a Christmas carol.
