A father and son working as security guards for an armored truck company encounter a team of would-be robbers while on a bridge. They become trapped and must come up with a plan to escape and ensure their survival.
For those of you who might be interested The only other time Stallone played an antagonist was in Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over in 2003. Also in Death race 2000 against David Carradinein in 1975. As roles go this certainly wasn’t one of Stallone’s more memorable roles. I suppose the decision to watch this was because I thought that the title was cool, there’s been stranger reasons why I’ve decided to watch a movie. Apparently this was the third movie that Justin Routt has directed, I’d like to think that his abilities as a director will improve given more opportunities. As action movies Armor could have been better if its runtime was about 15 minutes shorter as the extended runtime took away from the overall tension of the movie and the effects used didn’t come off as having a bargain basement quality. This is definitely the kind of movie you watch in the middle of a movie marathon. It has been more than a few years since I last saw Dash Mihok in a movie and I loved what was done with his character in the third act of the movie. Jason Patric is another actor that I haven’t seen in a movie for awhile, I haven’t been avoiding his movies, they just haven’t been crossing my path. I enjoyed Patric’s performance and he was great alongside Josh Wiggins.
