Nick Fury and the international agency S.H.I.E.L.D. bring together a team of super humans to form The Avengers to help save the Earth from Loki & his army
Finally, we have gotten to a movie in 2012 that could actually be a serious contender for the biggest movie year. Considering all the work that has been put into the lead up to the Avengers by Marvel studios. Granted comic book movies do have a shaky track record at being good movies. The Avengers had the whole problem of having to “get the band together” so the first act seemed to be a little drawn out.
I was surprised that Mark Ruffalo was cast as Doctor Bruce Banner, because part of me was expecting Edward Norton to be cast. However, I found my enjoying Ruffalo’s performance. I also found childlike qualities of The Hulk to be hilairious.
Considering that director Joss Whedon also wrote the screenplay, it obvious that he brought his trademark pop culture wit to the movie that he is noted for with his television projects.
