An elite team of Navy SEALs embark on a covert mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent.
I am actually kind of embarrassed to say that I actually busted my ass to get to the cinema and sat through this entire movie. I understand and respect why this movie was dedicated to service members who gave their lives on active service. But the negatives outweigh the positives with Act of Valour. Visually what the filmmakers delivered on the screen and just maybe these guys have a brilliant future ahead of them as cinematographers because they have very little talent as directors. The next time they direct an action movie it NEEDS to have emotionally gripping action. I know I am repeating myself here but you need to cheer for the death of the villain and be sad if the hero is injured or dies. I found myself unable to do this.
In a brilliant marketing ploy, a group of active-duty Navy SEALs stared in the movie because allegedly during production they became frustrated that they were not being accurately depicted. Due to my inability to form any connection with this story, I actually caught myself almost falling asleep during the third act.
My advice if you find yourself being forced to go and watch this movie, drink a coupe cans of red bull so you won’t have to worry about falling asleep in your local cinema.
